We here at Limpopo Dairy focuses on the best practise, sustainable ways in farming. On the farm we have +- 1800 dairy animals. On an average, 800 of these cows are milked three times a day. We produce more or less 30 000 liters of milk per day. Our dairy cattle feed on a total mixed ration feeding system that ensures the quality of produce and most importantly the health of our cattle. We ensure that their feed contains the right balance of concentrates, minerals and required feed stuffs. Our cattle consumes about 1666.78 tons of feed per month. To ensure their health, the veternarian visits the farm every two weeks to conduct tests to ensure the health of our cattle.


Limpopo Dairy uses the most advance systems and technology in order to ensure best farming practises and to ensure the health of our cattle through intergrate systems that can predict and control health issues before they arise in a conventional way. The cows responsible for producing our delicious dairy products are no ordinary cows. The genetic process of the herd is extremely important to ensure future sustainability.

Limpopo Dairy’s cattle consist of Holsteins.


We make use of ABS and GMS breeding programs in order ensure that correct mating procedures are implemented.


Young calves are measured through the genetic pool and milk production of their mothers and ancestors to establish the genetic pool that will follow.


The health and wellbeing of the cows are the most important function and we therefore take great care of our four legged friends that are no ordinary cows.


Limpopo Dairy has qualified several times during the past ten years for the dairy farmer competition and has been chosen as the Souh African Master Dairy Farmer in 2013 and achieved several 2nd places over the last ten years.


All cattle undergo daily health checks, to ensure that only healthy cows are being milked. Sick cows are treated on the farm in the sick bay. There is also a veterinarian that inspect the cattle on a monthly basis and who is on standby should any emergencies occur.




Why not try out some healthy goats milk for a change?

The Limpopo Milk Goat Dairy was established in the 1990's.


As a result of the ever-increasing need for goat's milk, mainly due to the demands by children with allergies. On the farm, 63% of the milk goats are Saanens and others British Aphine and BDE breeds.


"Our milk goats kid down in the winter months and are the same as cows in that they milk for approximately 300 days during lactation. Only ewe lambs and a few ram lambs from the best are kept for breeding purposes.

The ewes , when kidding down, produce mainly twins (±80%),"

The ewes at the start of lactation often give in excess of seven liters a day. The rearing of the kids consumes a large amount of milk, but over and above those requirements, the milk goats produce the milk required to produce our dairy goat products, in peak production season a herd average of 4L per day.


The milk goats are all milked twice daily by machine, just like the cows are today, for the purposes of quality control and labor abilities. The goats of different breeds are also milked seperately. Lams are raised on surogate milk to ensure enough goat milk for the demand. This is also more cost effective.


All goats undergo daily health checks to ensure that only the healthy goats are being milked. Sick goats are treated on the farm.
